Dandelion & Chicory Chai | Mama Jean's Natural Market

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 2 thin slices of fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp coarsely ground organic dandelion root
  • 1 tsp coarsely ground organic roasted chicory root
  • 2 organic black peppercorns, cracked
  • 2 organic green cardamom pods, cracked
  • 1 whole clove
  • 1 - 1 inch organic cinnamon stick, broken into pieces
  • 1/2 cup of organic milk or milk alternative
  • 1 Tbls of organic, raw honey
Instructions:
  1. Combine the water, dandelion root, chicory root, cardamom, ginger, peppercorn, clove, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for 5 minutes, covered.
  2. Add your milk choice and honey, and bring to a boil again, uncovered.
  3. Remove from heat, and strain into a cup. Discard solids, and enjoy immediately!
