Zyflamend is a product we REALLY love.

An anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving herbal blend from the company New Chapter, Zyflamend is the #1 selling herbal supplement in the U.S. for inflammation. It is composed of extracts of turmeric, ginger, rosemary, holy basil, green tea, hu zhang (a source of resveratrol), Chinese goldthread, barberry, oregano, and Baikal skullcap – basically, a lot of good stuff. Rich in antioxidant content, excellent for circulation, and studied as an anti-carcinogenic (anti-CANCER) agent, it is an impressively versatile supplement with a broad range of applications.

As stated, it is first and foremost taken for inflammation and pain. Standard dosing is just two a day and, like many other pain relievers you might be familiar with (Advil, Aleve, etc.), it can be taken as needed for pain. That is, it works quickly and you don’t need to take it all the time to have a proper effect. However, unlike the other standard NSAIDs (“non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs”), it is an excellent thing to take on a regular basis, and to great effect.

You see, your standard NSAIDs are rife with potential side-effects: heart failure, stroke, digestive disorders from simple diarrhea to gastric bleeding and IBS, and even things like photosensitivity (burning easier in the sun), and erectile dysfunction (no explanation necessary). Past all that, standard NSAIDs are one of the worst (and most commonly consumed) culprits for “renal adverse drug reactions” (ADRs). Translation: they are VERY hard on your kidneys.

Some people take standard NSAIDs every single day, sometimes for years and, while this can have benefits for overall pain and functionality, the long-term impact on the digestive and filtration systems alone (your stomach and kidneys) can be anywhere from traumatic to potentially fatal. Add in the general risks associated with combining NSAIDs with any number of medications and the fact that one of your most likely groups to consume them, the elderly, are the most susceptible to the wide range of issues associated with these drugs, you have a group of substances that, while extraordinarily useful, can possibly be quite dangerous.

Zyflamend, on the other hand, has been shown in clinical trials to not possess any “serious toxicity or adverse effects.” In fact, quite the opposite. The combination of herbs contained within this supplement are actually among the same things you would take as natural treatments for almost all the conditions listed above. Turmeric alone is supportive of cardiovascular health, neurological health, AND kidney function (by virtue of circulatory support and antioxidant content), thereby counteracting three major NSAID side-effects. Essentially, Zyflamend is a supplement that gives you all the benefits of your standard pain-reliever, that also counteracts most of the major side-effects of your standard pain-reliever.

Now, here’s the part where it gets really exciting: Zyflamend has been studied in multiple clinical trials – all of which you can check out on PubMed, the National Institute of Health’s online database – primarily for its potential in helping to fight cancer. For a variety of cancers: bone, skin, mouth, kidney and, particularly, cancer of the prostate, Zyflamend has shown the potential to both suppress the growth of certain cancerous cells (it’s a “COX-2 Inhibitor”) and to improve the overall effectiveness of various hormonal and chemotherapy agents. Meaning, not only does it help to fight cancer, it helps things that help to fight cancer. While studies at this point have been done primarily “in vitro” (meaning they tested them on individual cell cultures) or on animal subjects, the early results of limited human trials are very promising.

In Zyflamend, you have a supplement that’s good for pain, inflammation, your heart, your brain, has antioxidants that are good for you all over, and has the potential to be a useful agent in the fight against multiple kinds of cancer .
