Ways to Make the Most of Your Leftover Turkey | Mama Jean's Natural Market
Leftover turkey, whole turkey, thanksgiving

Not going to Grandma’s? We know you still want that Turkey!

Cooking a whole turkey may seem daunting at first, but you’ll soon find this straight forward process is well worth the time it takes! Buying in season and buying in bulk is a great way to eat frugal during the holidays. You can estimate getting at least 4-5 meals out of your whole turkey, plus lots of stock to create a base for other soups.

To avoid having turkey leftovers dry out in the fridge over time, we suggest partially breaking down your bird before you roast it. Cook only what you plan on eating at first. If you do cook it all at once, simply put what you can’t use right away in the freezer for later. Freezing gives you the flexibility to use leftovers whenever you’re ready!

Use the breast first for your holiday meal and freeze the legs for later. You can use left over breast for paninis later. Scraps will go into your stock pot for a delicious turkey noodle soup for later!

Here’s our favorite resources for savoring every last scrap!
