Coconut Oil vs. Coconut Butter vs. Coconut Manna | Mama Jean's Natural Market
Coconut Oil vs. Coconut Butter vs. Coconut Manna

You've heard everyone touting the health benefits of coconut oil. You head to MaMa Jean's to pick up a jar and when you make your way to the aisle that they're on, OH MY GOSH!!!...not only are there a lot of choices of coconut oil, there is also coconut butter and coconut manna. MaMa's here to break down the differences for you.

First let's start with what's the same between the three. They are all high in lauric acid which may help support healthy cholesterol levels, and all of them contain no trans-fats. Now here are the differences:

Coconut Butter

  • made by puréeing dried coconut flesh
  • creamy at room temperature
  • contains fiber
  • great to use as a dairy butter substitute and in smoothies

Coconut Manna

  • It's the same thing as coconut butter!

Coconut Oil

  • expeller or cold pressed, or centrifuged from fresh coconut flesh
  • liquid at room temperature
  • does not contain fiber
  • great to use for cooking as it has a high smoke point

Here at MaMa Jean's we carry coconut butter in flavors such as Lemon Zest, Espresso, and Chocolate. Add them to your oatmeal or smoothie for health and flavor enhancement. We have coconut manna in portable pouches that make on-the-go energy boosts that much easier. Grab a jar of coconut oil for sautéeing, and even taking off make-up! The possibilites are endless. If you have any questions, come on in to one of our three locations and we'll be happy to answer any of your questions!
