This month we are featuring our favorite aphrodisiac herbs to get you in the mood: Black Maca and Horny Goat Weed. Learn how these herbs can help you feel sexy this month and how to use them.
Black Maca
Traditionally used to enhance energy and libido. Black Maca is most beneficial in reducing erectile dysfunction, increasing sperm count and motility, but unlike synthetic erectile dysfunction drugs, it does not produce hormonal changes that lead to unwanted side effects. Black Maca is also beneficial for restoring learning and memory.
Lover’s Chocolate Maca Mousse
Ingredients:
- 2 Large Ripe Avocados
- ½ cup Raw Cacao Powder
- ½ cup Agave or Honey
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp Extra Virgin Coconut OI
- 1 Tbs Black Maca (or to taste)
- Pinch of Salt
Directions:
Spoon the avocado out of its skin into a food processor. Add the rest of the ingredients. Mix until smooth. Serve chilled with shredded coconut or fresh berries.
Horny Goat Weed
Horny goat weed (or Epimedium) is an herb worth trying for the name alone. It is great for increasing blood flow and can be used as an aphrodisiac. The leaves have a pleasant mild taste and stimulant effect.
Horny Goat Weed Liqueur
Ingredients:
- Handful of dried Horny Goat Weed
- Slice or two of Orange
- 3-4 Cardamom Pods
- 1 Tbs Brown Sugar
- 1 cup Whiskey
Directions:
- Fill jar (roughly ½ pint size) with the dry ingredients.
- Pour in enough whiskey to fill the jar and submerge dry ingredients.
- Put jar in a warm dark place for two weeks then strain and bottle.
- Enjoy a small liqueur glassful, sipped slowly, as you wish.
